▤ Inventory List
This is your master equipment list — everything you own, whether or not it's going on this trip.
- + Add Item opens a form to record a category, name, serial number, weight, and replacement value for a new item.
- Use the Home / Camera Bag / Carry Bag buttons on each row to set where that item currently lives — exactly one is active (green) at a time. Camera Bag and Carry Bag items are what the two Trip Preparedness dials weigh.
- Use the ✎ icon to edit an item, and ✕ to delete it.
- The ♥ heart icon marks an item as a favourite. Favourites can then be bundled into a Saved List (see below).
- Use the ▲ ▼ buttons next to an item to move it up or down within its category, and the matching ▲ ▼ buttons on a category's header to move the whole group up or down the list. This ordering is remembered and also carries through to the Dashboard, Insurance Summary, and Settings.
- Each category header has an Unpack button that sends every item in that category only back to Home in one click.
- Click anywhere on a category's header, or its ▾ chevron, to collapse or expand that section — handy for a large inventory. Collapse All / Expand All at the top of the page do this for every category at once, and each category remembers its state.
- Save Favourites opens a pop-up listing your current favourites, where you can pick which of them to include and give the bundle a name — this creates a new entry under Saved Lists.
- Clear Favourites instantly un-marks every favourite in your inventory.
- Unpack All sends every item in your entire inventory back to Home in one click.
🗂 Saved Lists
A library of reusable kit bundles built from your favourites. Each list has its own Home / Camera Bag / Carry Bag buttons — click one to set every item in that list to that status in one go. Exactly one is lit (green) if every member item currently shares that status; if the list is a mix of statuses, none light up. A separate Unpack All button sends every item in that list back to Home, without affecting anything outside it. Use the ✎ button to rename a list at any time, the ⭳ button to export it as a standalone JSON file (handy for feeding into another app — a shoot-planning tool, for example), or the ✕ button to delete it permanently.
listName field and an items array, where every item has name, category, serial, weightKg, and value. This is a plain, documented format designed to be easy to read into another app.◈ Trip Preparedness (Dashboard)
Your at-a-glance view of trip readiness, split into two matching sections — one for your Camera Bag, one for your Carry Bag — so you can track each independently. Each section shows a weight-packed gauge, the number of items currently in that bag, and the total replacement value of what's currently in that bag. The gauge reads Light, Medium, or Heavy depending on which weight threshold the packed weight falls into — set your own Green/Amber/Red thresholds in Settings. Below both sections, the Category Breakdown shows progress per category, but only for categories that currently have items selected for the trip.
🛡 Insurance Summary
A read-only-style valuation view of your whole inventory, grouped by category, for insurance purposes. As with the Inventory List, click a category's header or its ▾ chevron to collapse or expand it, or use Collapse All / Expand All at the top of the page.
- Value shows each item's replacement value as entered in the Inventory List.
- Receipt Available is a click-to-toggle Yes/No button — mark whether you hold proof of purchase for that item.
- Additional Information is a free-text field for notes such as purchase date, retailer, or policy reference.
The grand total insured value across every category is shown at the bottom of the page.
⚙ Settings
- Categories — rename, add, or delete the categories items are grouped under, and click a category's icon to choose a different one.
- Weight Thresholds — set the Green/Amber/Red weight bands and maximum scale for the Camera Bag and Carry Bag gauges on the Dashboard.
- Appearance — pick from 12 colour themes; this updates the whole app instantly, including status colours like Selected, Packed, and the Receipt Available toggle.
- Data — Export Data downloads a backup file of everything (inventory, saved lists, categories, thresholds, and theme). Import Data loads a previously exported backup file back in, replacing what's currently stored. This is the way to move your data between different computers — see the tip below. Clear All Data permanently erases everything stored in this browser. This cannot be undone.
